Diocesan Knitting Project

Hi Fellow Knitters! You may have seen the Ministry Opportunity in The Diocesan Communicator about a project for one of Calvary’s Outreach ministries. This project is knitting neckwarmers for our homeless neighbors and is a great way to use up that stash of bulky yarn while helping others. Here are the details:

Grief Support Group

The Grief Support Group offers healing and hope after the death of a loved one or another form of loss. This is done through mutual sharing in a small group setting. The group meets every other Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. over Zoom. The next meetings are July 16 and 30. The group is facilitated by the Rev.

Helping Others

During this pandemic there are many ways to help:

  • Make certain you have a Kroger card with Calvary Outreach selected as the recipient of Kroger’s contribution.
  • Ask your workplace, gym, favorite non-profit, etc. or friends if they would allow us to put a bin in their space to collect men’s jeans for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
  • Come sort and organize

Kroger Community Rewards

If you have a Kroger Plus card, you can sign up for Kroger Community Rewards, a program where Kroger donates money to Calvary’s outreach programs every time you use your Kroger Plus card. To sign up, login to your account on kroger.com. Click on Save, then Kroger Community Rewards.
