Sundays

Formation: 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Grades 6-12 | Grizzlies Prep Classroom

Our formation hour will be a safe space for middle and high school youth to explore new ideas and interests using thought-provoking, fun activities, reflection, and discussion. We will explore topics of faith as they relate to us today, and current events happening in the world week by week.  Youth will engage with Bible study, prayer, and service opportunities to explore their faith.

Youth as Worship Leaders

There are many ways for Calvary’s youth to serve in Sunday morning worship. Youth are encouraged to acolyte, lector, sing in the choir, usher, and/or help in Children’s Chapel. Below is the list of ministry opportunities and volunteer age requirements. Please contact Nathan Brasfield for further information on how to get involved with these ministries.

Acolyte: 7th–12th grades

Lector: 5th–12th grades

Usher: 6th–12th grades

Music: 1st–12th grades

Children’s Chapel Helper: 5th–12th grades

Sunday Afternoon Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)

Grades 6-12

Sundays are for EYC, and youth will be invited to different fellowship and service events each Sunday. The time and location will not always be the same, as some events call for different places and times, so keep your eyes on the announcements, EYC GroupMe, and EYC newsletter. If you are not on the GroupMe or newsletter and would like to be, please email Nathan at nbrasfield@calvarymemphis.org. Sunday EYC is a fellowship time for youth to learn more about themselves and their relationship with Christ, find love and safety in their community, and learn how we can make this world a better place together.

Parent Manual and Child Registration Form

Children and Youth Ministries Parent Manual

Calvary Episcopal Church’s mission is making God’s love visible in downtown Memphis. We encourage our children and youth to live into this mission as part of a safe and loving community. Contained within this manual, you will find information regarding the Children Ministry and the Youth Ministry’s guidelines, procedures, and code of conduct. The guidelines and procedures are in place to provide safety for all children and youth. Please take the time to read this manual and discuss it with your child. Expectations of parents/guardians, children, youth, and Calvary staff are outlined. Parents/guardians, children, youth, and Calvary staff are responsible for the information contained in this manual. Questions can be directed to the director of children and family ministries and/or the director of youth ministries, or a member of the clergy.
