Sunday Formation

Grades 6-12 | 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Middle and high school students meet in separate rooms on the 4th floor with Director of Youth and Community Ministries Nathan Brasfield and adult volunteers. Middle schoolers collaborate on themed activities designed to engage their creativity, and high schoolers focus on connection and conversation about topics related to scripture, theology, belonging in the church, and being teenagers on the threshold of young adulthood. Please let Nathan know if you need elevator access to the 4th floor, as it requires a key.

Wednesday EYC

Grades 6-12 | 6:15-7:15 p.m.

Following dinner from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m., starting Sept. 3, Calvary’s Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) initially meet in separate rooms on the 4th floor from 6:15 to 6:55 p.m. for community-focused activities, such as games and service projects. At about 7 p.m., we walk to the nave together to join the children’s ministries for Compline, which lasts until 7:15 p.m. All at Calvary are welcome to join us in the nave for Compline, and parents of middle schoolers will pick up their children from there. Please let Nathan know if you need elevator access to the 4th floor, as it requires a key.

High School Bible Study

High schoolers, join us for a Bible study at Panera Bread, located at 1961 Union Ave., on the second, third, and fourth Mondays of the month (excluding holidays and school breaks), beginning Monday, Sept. 15, from 6-7 p.m. You don’t need to bring anything, but you’re certainly welcome to bring a Bible if you’d like. Your attendance secures you a Panera cookie of your choice! We will send a text to those subscribed to Youth Ministries text messages each Monday morning to request RSVPs, and we will confirm that we’re all set!

Confirmation

Confirmation meetings for youth grades 10-12 who have not yet been confirmed are offered over the course of five Sundays from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the bishop’s annual visit to Calvary. Confirmation is important because those baptized into the church as infants or as young children have their parents, guardians, and godparents make baptismal vows on their behalf. Confirmation, therefore, provides these younger members of the church with the opportunity to follow up on their baptisms to make their own personal commitment to the life and mission of the church as they begin to grow into adulthood.

Office Hours at Sugar Ghost

Twice a semester (check the calendar for scheduling), come by Sugar Ghost at 2615 Broad Ave. any time between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. and enjoy an ice cream or bubble tea (compliments of Calvary) and hang out with Nathan and any other folks who drop in.
