April 8: Easter Respite, no Wednesday night programs
April 15 – May 13: Sacred Secular Scripture with Tim Huebner & Dalton Lyon
Using the Faith 250 model, we will examine a range of core American texts as we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. With the thoughtful guidance of two of Calvary’s American history educators, take a deep look at Emma Lazarus’ poem “The New Colossus,” the Declaration of Independence, the text of “America the Beautiful,” and “What to the Slave is the 4th of July” by Frederick Douglass.
May 20: Watch & Wonder with the Rev. Ragan Sutterfield
Ragan Sutterfield is an Episcopal priest serving to our west in Arkansas, and he has written a book about the spiritual practice of bird watching. Watch & Wonder is “about paying attention as an act of love, and the gifts we receive when we listen to the world around us.” We’ll have a reading and some conversation with him beginning at 6:15.
