Sunday, Aug. 18 | 9: 15 a.m. | Grizzlies Prep
This Sunday, Ujijji Davis Williams, founder of JIMA Studio in Detroit, and Azzurra Cox, professor of landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, will be in Memphis exploring a possible partnership with Calvary and other community stakeholders in the design of a civic memorial space on the site of a slave market that was active on Calvary’s block in the mid 19th century. Join us this Sunday to learn about JIMA’s past projects and how they approach creating public spaces that are both truthful and healing. On Sept. 8, Studio Zewde, the other design team finalist, will present their work at a Sunday forum as well.
