Calvary’s Wednesday evening program of dinner, classes, and choir rehearsals continues each week through May. Dinner is at 5:15, and programs for all ages are at 6:15. Dinner is $8 for adults, $4 for children, and $25 for a family max.

The Boys and Girls Choir, made up of students with unchanged voices in grades 3 and up, sings semi-monthly at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Using the Voice for Life curriculum established by the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch promotes a complete and quality approach to children’s music ministry that is as much a Christian education experience as it is a musical training experience. Choristers often become peer leaders over time as they progress through the program. Rehearsal is Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Afterward, they attend Compline in the church until 7:15 p.m.

Calvary’s liturgical five-octave handbell choir, the Calvary Ringers, rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings and always welcomes new members. The ability to read music is not required. Calvary Ringers is directed by Joseph Powell.

Both professional singers and auditioned volunteers make up Calvary’s primary group of choristers: the Calvary Choir. The choir sings each week at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, monthly Evensong, and offers special liturgical services and concerts during the year. While strongly based in the music of the Anglican church, their repertoire spans the centuries and global traditions, from plainsong to spirituals. In addition to making music at home, the Calvary Choir has traveled to England to participate in a week-long choral residency at the Bristol Cathedral. They are known for both their dedication to and love of music and close camaraderie. Interested singers should contact Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch.

The Baguette Brothers Bible study meets every Thursday morning from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Barth House Episcopal Center. The group reads and discusses the Gospel passage for Sunday as a way of preparing for worship and deepening our understanding of scripture. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on the first Thursday of each month at 7:15 a.m. All men are invited. Come join us!

J2A focuses on critical thinking and responsibility while fostering a connection to the Christian community. During Sunday formation, youth will explore new ways of engaging with scripture and prayer.

Honoring the memory of the brilliant urban thinker and Calvary parishioner Tommy Pacello, the Rev. Scott Walters will host a conversation with Jason Turner of Mississippi Blvd Christian Church, Stuart Harris of Constellation Properties, and Margaret Haltom, a PhD candidate in urban planning at MIT. All of these are people who believe that how we attend to the built environment has a great impact on human flourishing, which means the design of our cities, neighborhoods, and public spaces are often overlooked spheres in which we can heed Jesus's call to love our neighbors.

Holy Week begins with the remembrance of Jesus’s humble yet triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Our service begins with the Liturgy of the Palms and includes the reading of the Passion Gospel. The service closes in silence as we walk together into Holy Week.

We’ll have a special in-gathering of coats to provide for our neighbors in the future. At the end of the winter season, clean out your closets and bring us your coats and other gifts to share.

Godly Play is a Montessori-based Christian faith formation program for children. Adult leaders explore sacred stories of the Bible with children as they learn the language of our faith. Each session includes storytelling, hands-on participation, wondering, reflecting, prayer, and creativity.

High schoolers, join us for a Bible study at the Union Ave. Panera Bread on Mondays (except for the first Mondays of the month) at 6-7 p.m. We have handouts every week with the scriptural texts and we are currently reading 1 Corinthians. Perhaps more than any other part of the Bible, this bizarre and beautiful letter presents so much material to imagine with as we consider what it means to be the church together and aim to find our place within it as individuals. Easter morning celebrates the risen Christ with songs and shouts of Alleluia! Celebrate the joy of new life at 7:30 a.m. or at 9 & 11 a.m. with brass, timpani, choir, and children’s chapel.

An Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 10 and younger will be held on Calvary’s South Lawn following the 9 a.m. Eucharist.
