Close your day with prayer at Evensong, a longstanding liturgy of the Anglican Church. Rooted in the ancient Christian monastic tradition of pausing for prayer at certain points of the day, prayers are sung by the choir during a forty-minute service.
In November, Calvary Choir is collaborating with the Parish Choir of Grace-St. Luke’s to present a special service of Evensong to commemorate the Feast of All Saints. Featuring music by Maggie Burk (Carthage College), Roland Martin (University of Buffalo), and the magnificent anthem “Blessed City, Heavenly Salem” by Edward Bairstow (early 20th-century English composer). The necrology will be read to name those who have been buried from here since All Saints’ Day 2024.
