When the Lenten Preaching Series and Waffle Shop begin, hundreds of visitors will start pouring into Calvary’s buildings. The success of these annual “Gifts to the City” depends on our parish’s efforts. Please get involved in the ministry of Lent and sign up to help with these volunteer opportunities:
Everyone can do this! Invite a friend to join you for the Lenten Preaching Series and Waffle Shop. Most people first come to the Lenten Series or the Waffle Shop because someone invited them. If your friends’ time is limited, remind them that to-go Waffle Shop orders may be placed in the Commons on the first floor so that they can enjoy both the Lenten speakers and the Waffle Shop.
Volunteer to be a greeter and assist in welcoming visitors and guiding them through the church’s buildings. You will direct visitors to the church and then to the Waffle Shop after the service. Arrive at 10:30 a.m., plan to stay through the service, and direct visitors afterward. Sign up now.
Ushers stand at the doors before the service and hand out bulletins. They also count the number of people who attend the service and help with the collection afterward. If you plan to attend a speaker, signing up online is an easy way to participate in the Series’ ministry. Sign up now.
There are many ways to help in the Waffle Shop: waiters and servers, drinks, to-go orders, cashiers, waffle makers, and sausage/hash servers. Sign up now.
