Youth Confirmation meetings are for 9th-12th graders who want to follow up on their baptisms and make their own personal commitment to the life and mission of the church as they grow into adulthood.
Confirmation for youth and adults at Calvary this year will take place during the annual visit of the Rt. Rev. Phoebe A. Roaf, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee, on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the 10:30 a.m. service.
To prepare for confirmation, potential youth confirmands will meet on five Sundays, beginning Oct. 25, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Staff Commons on the first floor to discuss the foundations of the Christian faith and the specific nature of the Episcopal tradition. There will be light homework to complete in preparation for the 2nd-5th class meetings. The goal of these meetings is for our potential youth confirmands, in conversation with their parents, to make sincere, informed decisions about participating in the mission of the church at large, being confirmed in the Episcopal Church, and being a member of Calvary in particular.
Lunch will be provided, so please let us know about any dietary restrictions or preferences.
