Using the Faith 250 model, we will examine a range of core American texts as we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. With the thoughtful guidance of two of Calvary’s American history educators, take a deep look at Emma Lazarus’ poem “The New Colossus,” the Declaration of Independence, the text of “America the Beautiful,” and “What to the Slave is the 4th of July” by Frederick Douglass.
