Whether you’re a newcomer or a lifelong Episcopalian, this class is designed to go to the heart of what it means to be a follower of Christ in the Episcopal tradition. Over eight weeks, our classes will be led by Calvary’s clergy, lay leaders, and one session with Bishop Phoebe Roaf. We’ll consider an Episcopal understanding of the Bible, why we worship the way we do, how we begin to understand God, how to navigate the Book of Common Prayer, spiritual practices, and ways to make God’s love visible through Calvary’s ministries.
This class is open to all who wonder about their own faith and is also a path toward confirmation and fuller membership in the Episcopal Church through Calvary. If you feel further drawn in, we will offer the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, December 6, when the Bishop is our preacher and celebrant.
We will meet over eight consecutive Wednesday evenings, October 7 – December 2 (skipping Thanksgiving week) from 6:15-7:15 in the Memphis Room. An optional meal is available beforehand, beginning at 5:15 in the Mural Room (cost: $10), and free childcare is available for children five and under.
