Vestry Slate Announced

Additional nominees accepted through Friday, Nov. 15

Identifying candidates to serve on the vestry, the parish’s governing board, is one of the most important tasks of our parish community. Vestry members act as agents of the parish in all matters involving parish property and assets and assist the parish in its planning and leadership. A candidate for the vestry should exhibit personal maturity, broad vision, strategic thinking, deep faith, and a can-do attitude.

Candidates for vestry must meet the following criteria:
Be a confirmed member of Calvary Church
Be a communicant in good standing (i.e., having been faithful in corporate worship in the six months preceding the election and a regular contributor and pledger of record for the support of the parish)
Be 18 years of age or older

To nominate someone, you must find two others with which to nominate that person, and you need first to be sure to obtain that person’s permission.

Following Calvary’s bylaws, the nomination committee, comprised of 2023 Sr. Warden, Zach Ferguson, and the five third-year vestry members (Cathy Awsumb, Ben Boeving, Len Grice, Shannon Tucker, Brie Wallace), presents the following slate for election to the 2025 vestry:

Andy Estes, Barbara Etheridge, Matt Seltzer, Reg Udouj, and Ginny Webb

Additional nominations may be made until 48 hours before the election on Sunday, Nov. 17. If you know someone you wish to nominate or if you feel called to this ministry of leadership, please contact Sr. Ben Boeving (901-848-3350) by 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.

Five members will be elected to serve a three-year term on Sunday, November 17, 2024. The Diocesan Canons state that each communicant 16 years old or older and in good standing (see #2 above) may vote. There is no requirement for voters to be confirmed.
