DESCRIPTION:Close your day with prayer at Evensong\, a longstanding liturgy of the Anglican Church. Rooted in the ancient Christian monastic tradition of pausing for prayer at certain points of the day\, prayers are sung by the choir during a forty-minute service. \nIn November\, Calvary Choir is collaborating with the Parish Choir of Grace-St. Luke’s to present a special service of Evensong to commemorate the Feast of All Saints. Featuring music by Maggie Burk (Carthage College)\, Roland Martin (University of Buffalo)\, and the magnificent anthem “Blessed City\, Heavenly Salem” by Edward Bairstow (early 20th-century English composer). The necrology will be read to name those who have been buried from here since All Saints’ Day 2024.

We would love to have you join us just once\, or as often as your schedule allows\, and bring a friend or family member of any age; there is always something for everyone to do. For the November 9 Soup Sunday\, soup prep starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday\, the 8th\, and we plan to be packaged and cleaned up by noon. DESCRIPTION:Soup Sunday at Calvary\, December 14 \nAre you looking for a way to support a Calvary ministry\, but you’re super busy with other commitments? Well\, it only takes one minute to support the Soup Sunday hunger ministry by stopping by the Commons after the 8:30 service\, or before and after the 10:30 service\, to purchase and take home some delicious soup for yourself\, your family\, and/or neighbors and friends. It’s the perfect way to show the community how much you love them. \n  \nIn addition\, everyone is welcome to volunteer for Soup Sunday\, and no cooking skills or long-term commitments are required. We would love to have you join us just once\, or as often as your schedule allows\, and bring a friend or family member of any age; there is always something for everyone to do. Soup Sunday\, soup prep starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday\, and we target to be packaged and cleaned up by noon. However\, if you can’t spare the entire morning\, feel free to join and leave us as your schedule allows. Even arriving as late as 11 a.m. for packaging and cleanup would be a big help. DESCRIPTION:For the second consecutive year\, our friends just down the street at Memphis First United Methodist Church are hosting their annual Christmas Ball! Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Hospitality Hub\, sponsor of our weekly Neighborhood Breakfast. Last year’s event was such a great time\, and it’s only $8 per person or $25 per family. Your fanciest clothes are encouraged but not required!
