SUMMARY:Calvary Choir Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Both professional singers and auditioned volunteers make up Calvary’s primary group of choristers: the Calvary Choir. The choir sings each week at the 10:30 a.m. worship service\, monthly Evensong\, and offers special liturgical services and concerts during the year. While strongly rooted in the music of the Anglican Church\, their repertoire spans centuries and global traditions\, from plainsong to spirituals. \nIn addition to making music at home\, the Calvary Choir travels to England for a week-long choral residency at a cathedral every three years. They are known for both their dedication to and love of music\, as well as their close camaraderie. Interested singers should contact Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch.

SUMMARY:Christmas Lessons & Carols
DESCRIPTION:Established at Truro Cathedral in 1880 and later popularized by King’s College\, Cambridge\, this service outlines a powerful narrative of hope. With candlelight flickering\, words of scripture and poetry will be illuminated musically by Calvary’s choirs of children\, handbells\, youth\, and adults\, accompanied by harp and our majestic organ. We invite you to quiet your heart and hear the story of God’s love as we move from darkness into the light of the nativity. \nEnjoy cookies and cocoa in the Great Hall following this service.

SUMMARY:Evensong
DESCRIPTION:Evensong is a service that requires you to only sit\, reflect\, pray\, and accept the music as a beautiful offering. Praying on behalf of the congregation through music written centuries ago or just this year\, the Calvary Choir follows the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer for a service of candlelight as the night falls.
