A native Memphian\, Shari enjoys taking long walks with her husband Larry\, teaching high school English\, writing on her back porch while she watches the birds\, and Neighborhood Barre. Ray’s first book\, Surprised by Imperfection\, debuted in November 2022\, and her second book of essays releases in the fall of 2023.

DESCRIPTION:In the summer of 2023\, the EYC will travel to Atlanta\, Georgia\, to spend a week at Mercy Community Church June 3-10. Mercy Community Church is a church for folks struggling with homelessness and mental health. \nThroughout the week\, they offer many services and activities that we will be a part of\, such as daily breakfast and daily lunch\, a clothing closet\, art classes\, food stamps assistance\, daily bible study\, and lots and lots of music. DESCRIPTION:Education for Ministry\, aka EfM\, helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study\, worship\, and engage in theological reflection together. This is a commitment class\, and participants are encouraged to commit to the program from August through May. \nCalvary offers two EfM groups\, both led by Richard Hendricks\, Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Contact the Rev.
