For all that’s changed in our world since then\, Memphians still stream to Calvary each year for these three dishes\, as well as more “recent” additions such as shrimp mousse\, tomato aspic\, and Tennessee bourbon pie. Why some of these might not have been on the menu even as long as you’ve been alive! But Waffle Shop has become the ultimate annual comfort food for many\, so we are pleased to let you know that it will be up and running again in 2026! \nDining is offered in person in the Mural Room on a first-come\, first-served basis. DESCRIPTION:Volunteer and/or donate to Guns and Gardens: A Transformational Event for Unwanted Firearms in partnership with Evergreen Presbyterian Church on Saturday\, Feb. 28\, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at 561 Prescott St. Firearms that are donated will be dismantled on site and then turned into gardening tools and artistic pieces by the Metal Museum. Donations must be unloaded and secured in your vehicle’s trunk or back compartment\, preferably in a gun case. You will stay in your vehicle until your guns are dismantled. This is an anonymous safe surrender event; no background checks will be conducted\, nor will any personal information be collected. There are also a number of volunteer opportunities!

Sometimes we get a glimpse of God and of who God calls us to be. \n  \nFebruary 22 – March 15: Sunday Scripture: Lenten Lectionary Edition (Bethlehem Chapel) \nThe Biblical texts for Lent are rich with meaning. Come explore\, discuss\, and learn more about these passages that sometimes just wash over us in church. We’ll take a closer look at each of the readings appointed for each Sunday\, and you’ll come away with a different perspective on our weekly worship. \n  \nMarch 22: The Hospitality Hub in the Bethlehem Chapel \nCalvary helped found the HUB in 2007\, and we continue to partner with them as we care for our downtown neighbors. Learn more about their vital work and what it means to serve those who are unhoused holistically and with compassion. \n  \nMarch 29: A Closer Look at Palm Sunday (Bethlehem Chapel) \nA lot happens in our Palm Sunday liturgy as we move from the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem all the way to his crucifixion. DESCRIPTION:At the beginning of the 10:30 a.m. worship service\, children in grades JK-2 are invited to follow the banner out of the church to Children’s Chapel\, which is held in the Corner Room adjacent to the nursery. There\, children experience the Liturgy of the Word in an interactive and child-friendly manner. We sing\, pray\, and hear the stories of the Bible. Children are escorted back to church at the time of the Peace to join their families for Communion. All are welcome\, including younger children accompanied by a parent. Older children are invited to take on leadership roles\, such as reading prayers\, leading songs\, and distributing supplies. Please join us!

We will gather on the patio for late morning fellowship\, refreshments\, music\, and Bible activities. The patio is adjacent to the Calvary Commons\, where our traditional coffee hour takes place. All ages are welcome; however\, those under age 6 would benefit from an adult companion. On wet or very hot days\, we will gather in the Mural Room instead.

For all that’s changed in our world since then\, Memphians still stream to Calvary each year for these three dishes\, as well as more “recent” additions such as shrimp mousse\, tomato aspic\, and Tennessee bourbon pie. Why some of these might not have been on the menu even as long as you’ve been alive! DESCRIPTION:The Boys and Girls Choir\, composed of students with unchanged voices in grades three and up\, sings semi-monthly at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Using the Voice for Life curriculum established by the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM)\, Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch promotes a complete and quality approach to children’s music ministry that is as much a Christian education experience as a musical training experience. Choristers often become peer leaders over time as they progress through the program. Rehearsal is on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Afterward\, they attend Compline in the church until 7:15 p.m.
