SUMMARY:Soup Sunday Prep
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for a way to support a Calvary ministry\, but you’re super busy with other commitments? Well\, it only takes one minute to support the Soup Sunday hunger ministry by stopping by the Commons after the 8 a.m. service\, or before and after the 10:30 a.m. service\, to purchase and take home some delicious soup for yourself\, your family\, and/or neighbors and friends. It’s the perfect way to show the community how much you love them. \nIn addition\, everyone is welcome to volunteer for Soup Sunday\, and no cooking skills or long-term commitments are required. We would love to have you join us just once\, or as often as your schedule allows\, and bring a friend or family member of any age; there is always something for everyone to do. For the November 9 Soup Sunday\, soup prep starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday\, the 8th\, and we plan to be packaged and cleaned up by noon. However\, if you can’t spare the entire morning\, feel free to join and leave us as your schedule allows. Even arriving as late as 11:00 a.m. for packaging and cleanup would be a big help. Alternatively\, if you prefer to sell soup on Sunday mornings\, we would love your help\, but what’s most important to the success of Soup Sunday is that people purchase soup. \nAnother way to be part of Soup Sunday is to share your favorite recipe with us. When we offer your soup for sale\, we’ll be sure to give you a byline. \nThe soups for November 9 will be: \n\n\n\n\n\nSausage Chowder (recipe shared by Gayle Spence)\nCinderella Soup (a long-time Soup Sunday favorite made with pumpkin)\nNew England Clam Chowder (Recipe shared online by Jacques Pépin)\n\n\n\n\n\nPrices are $12 per quart and $6 per pint. \nFor more information or to share recipes\, please contact David Balling at DLBalling@calvarymemphis.org. \nWe look forward to your support of Calvary’s Soup Sunday ministry. SUMMARY:Sun and Fun: Parents' Coffee and Playdate
DESCRIPTION:Parents\, grandparents\, and children are invited to a new family fellowship offering on select Saturdays this fall! Come to enjoy some downtime with other adults while your children play. Let’s make new friends and grow in fellowship with old ones. Join us from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays\, September 20\, October 18\, November 8\, and December 13. In September\, we will meet at Overton Park. However\, locations will vary depending on the weather and will be announced each month. Refreshments will be provided.
