Input from participants will also help shape a new 6 p.m. Sunday service in the Orgill Room beginning May 28.  \nEach week short readings from a variety of sources will serve as springboards for our conversations\, but no reading is required. She’s also a wonderful storyteller herself! \nA teacher of literature and writing in the Memphis area for nearly forty years\, Shari Brand Ray is currently the Chair of the English Department at St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Memphis. A native Memphian\, Shari enjoys taking long walks with her husband Larry\, teaching high school English\, writing on her back porch while she watches the birds\, and Neighborhood Barre. Ray’s first book\, Surprised by Imperfection\, debuted in November 2022\, and her second book of essays releases in the fall of 2023.

Join Scott Walters for a conversation about language and gesture and place and sacred text and architecture and how all of the essential elements of our embodied and evolving worship tradition work together as a means of grace in our lives. Input from participants will also help shape a new 6 p.m. Sunday service in the Orgill Room beginning May 28.  \nEach week short readings from a variety of sources will serve as springboards for our conversations\, but no reading is required. On the last Wednesdays of May\, June\, and July\, Greta Heru and Jill Piper will facilitate three workshops that will allow participants to go deeper with their dreams. \nMeetings will be held in the Montgomery Foyer from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on May 31\, June 28\, and July 26. Bring your dream in writing\, and the understanding that the dream group is confidential. If you attended the dream class any time during Lent\, you’ll find that helpful but not required.
