DESCRIPTION:Join the Calvary choirs for their week-in-residence at Durham Cathedral. Calvary Choir will lead Evensong every night in the largest Norman building constructed between 1093 and 1133 in the Romanesque style. Close to the North Sea and two hours south of Scotland\, excursions to places like Lindisfarne (Holy Island)\, the Roman ruins of Housesteads Fort along Hadrian’s Wall\, and Alnwick Castle are included. SUMMARY:Welcome Inn Lunch Bags
DESCRIPTION:Community Ministries provides lunchtime snack bags at the door of the Welcome Inn (82 N. 2nd St.) for our downtown neighbors Monday through Friday at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These days and times coincide with the AA meeting at the Welcome Inn held from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Help is needed in sourcing food (which must be either ready-to-eat or requiring very little preparation) and in serving. Volunteers who serve will work with Community Liaison Mak Clayton. DESCRIPTION:Room in the Inn (RITI) provides emergency shelter\, showers\, dinner\, breakfast\, and snack bags for women during the hottest and coldest months of the year at the Welcome Inn on Calvary’s campus. A volunteer sign-up is available for the summer 2025 season\, hosting on May 17\, June 14 & 27\, July 12 & 25\, August 9 & 29\, and September 13.
