SUMMARY:Youth Mission Trip
DESCRIPTION:In the summer of 2023\, the EYC will travel to Atlanta\, Georgia\, to spend a week at Mercy Community Church June 3-10. Mercy Community Church is a church for folks struggling with homelessness and mental health. \nThroughout the week\, they offer many services and activities that we will be a part of\, such as daily breakfast and daily lunch\, a clothing closet\, art classes\, food stamps assistance\, daily bible study\, and lots and lots of music. We will spend time assisting the Mercy Community with any tasks that they need help with\, worshiping\, eating\, and building community with them. \nLearn more about Mercy Community Church and its mission by visiting https://www.mercyatl.org/ \nWe will learn about the root causes of poverty while working with Mercy Community Church. And will learn about the diverse communities within the city and how some have been disproportionately affected by systemic policies that perpetuate poverty and homelessness. \nMercy Community Church is the Church that Jeremy\, the youth director of Calvary Episcopal Church\, worked at as an intern in 2017-18. \nWe only have space for 16 youth\, so sign up as soon as you can. \nThe total cost of the trip is $350 per person (scholarships available).  A non-refundable deposit of $175 is due at registration to reserve your spot. Please pay the deposit online or via check made out to Calvary Episcopal Church with “EYC Mission trip” in the memo line. You may either give this check to Jeremy directly or drop it in the offering plate on a Sunday. \nIf you are unable to afford this fee\, please do not feel you are unable to go. SUMMARY:Summer Formation for Children
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for “Jesus and Friends\,” our summer children’s formation series! The weekly lectionary gospel reading will be explored in a child-friendly manner using “Lesson Plans That Work\,” published by The Episcopal Church. We will learn about the life and teachings of Jesus through stories\, skits\, games\, arts\, crafts\, and snacks. All children ages JK-5th grade will meet in Room 201 each Sunday from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. beginning on June 4\, 2023. We can’t wait to see you!

DESCRIPTION:Each Sunday evening at 5 p.m.\, all are invited to participate in a quieter\, centering time of worship in the Orgill Room. This gathering offers a guided conversation in place of a sermon\, new words for old prayers\, and opportunities for silence and reflection. This service will not take place on Sundays when Evensong is offered.
