The Rev. Spencer Reece is the rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Jackson Heights, New York, which is said to be the most diverse neighborhood in the United States. Spencer is also a published poet whose book, The Road to Emmaus, was longlisted for a National Book Award. This spring brought the publication of two new books: The Secret Gospel of Mark: A Poet’s Memoir, and All the Beauty Still Left: A Poet’s Painted Book of Hours, a collection of Spencer‘s watercolors.
