Gleanings: Unapologetic (Why, Despite Everything, Christianity Can Still Make Surprising Emotional Sense)

October 7, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 12, 2020

Scott Walters

Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 30, Scott Walters’s “Gleanings” class is moving to Wednesdays for a study of Francis Spufford’s “Unapologetic: Why, Despite Everything, Christianity Can Still Make Surprising Emotional Sense.” The book set out to be a defense of the Christian faith in the face of the so-called “New Atheists.” But many Christians have found in it a fresh and compelling description of why the Christian faith can still be so life-giving and sustaining to people like us in a world like ours. The book can be ordered at novel., or wherever you buy books. We will discuss a chapter a week, about 25 pages. Voracity not required. Just an open heart and a willingness to engage truthfully and lovingly with others on Zoom. Contact Scott Walters to sign up: swalters@calvarymemphis.org.
