Parish Breakfast | 8:45 a.m. | Mural Room
The breakfast we all love, including eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, biscuits, coffee, and orange juice, is served at Calvary each Sunday from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Mural Room. Join us after worship for food and fellowship. All are welcome. $5

9-12th grade students are invited to meet in the High School EYC Room (301) from 9:15-10:15am for Sunday Formation: Journey to Adulthood (J2A). J2A focuses on critical thinking and responsibility while fostering a connection to the Christian community. During Sunday formation, youth will explore new ways of engaging with scripture and prayer.

High schoolers, join us for Bible study! You don’t have to bring anything; we’ll have handouts each week with the texts. Come have a cookie of your choice as we discuss the first of Paul’s letters to the Corinthians.

Calvary women and friends meet weekly at Barth House (on the University of Memphis Campus) for a conversation about the Bible and the way we live our lives.

The Baguette Brothers Bible study meets every Thursday morning from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Barth House Episcopal Center. The group reads and discusses the Gospel passage for Sunday as a way of preparing for worship and deepening our understanding of scripture. The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on the first Thursday of each month at 7:15 a.m. All men are invited. Come join us!

Join an online conversation group called “Gleanings” this fall as we read slowly through novelist Marilynne Robinson's Reading Genesis. Copies of the book are available at novel bookstore, or wherever you buy books. (Click HERE for a New York Times review by Francis Spufford.) All are welcome and newcomers are invited to join the conversation at any time. Church is open for prayer and meditation with a reading at 12:10.

The Boys and Girls Choir, made up of students with unchanged voices in grades 3 and up, sings semi-monthly at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Using the Voice for Life curriculum established by the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch promotes a complete and quality approach to children’s music ministry that is as much a Christian education experience as it is a musical training experience. Choristers often become peer leaders over time as they progress through the program. Rehearsal is Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Afterward, they attend Compline in the church until 7:15 p.m.

Calvary’s liturgical five-octave handbell choir, the Calvary Ringers, rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings and always welcomes new members. The ability to read music is not required. Calvary Ringers is directed by Joseph Powell.

Out of the pulpit and into a conversation. Each week we hear more from some of our LPS Preachers in a facilitated discussion. All are welcome to listen and join in the dialogue. And note the bonus Thursday edition at the end of the season!

Both professional singers and auditioned volunteers make up Calvary’s primary group of choristers: the Calvary Choir. The choir sings each week at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, monthly Evensong, and offers special liturgical services and concerts during the year. While strongly based in the music of the Anglican church, their repertoire spans the centuries and global traditions, from plainsong to spirituals. In addition to making music at home, the Calvary Choir has traveled to England to participate in a week-long choral residency at the Bristol Cathedral. They are known for both their dedication to and love of music and close camaraderie. Interested singers should contact Organist-Choirmaster Kristin Lensch.

Calvary’s Wednesday evening program of dinner, classes, and choir rehearsals continues each week through May. Dinner is at 5:15, and programs for all ages are at 6:15. Dinner is $8 for adults, $4 for children, and $25 for a family max.
