I watch the dangerous black clouds swirling as they move in over the Mississippi River. The trees, with their lightweight spring buds, are flipping and flapping in the whirlwind of confused air. The television screens are filled with weather maps in bright greens, yellows and reds trying to get our attention. Telling the Good News

On Tuesday, I attended a New Memphis Institute lunch where a panel of city leaders, including Calvary members Andy Cates and Tommy Pacello, spoke about the great energy that is revitalizing our city. Memphis has, at least in recent history, seemed insecure about itself. Youth Sunday: A day of celebration!

We celebrate Youth Sunday on Mother’s Day, May 8. That morning, graduating senior Annie Parker will preach at the 8 and 10 a.m. worship services, and we will recognize our graduates during the 10 a.m. worship service. Youth will serve in a number of other roles such as lectors and ushers at that service.
