May 3 Organ Recital and Evensong

At 5 p.m., a 30-minute organ recital will precede the Evensong, to feature our grand instrument, the Aeolian-Skinner, designed by G. Donald Harrison, and our Associate Organist-Choirmaster, John Palmer. John will play a varied program of pieces by Bach, Wagner, Walton, and Howells. Calvary celebrates pipe organ's 80th year with organ recital by Kristin Lensch

by Kristin Lensch, Organist-Choirmaster In 1935, New York trained organist, Adolph Steuterman, reaching his sixteenth year as Organist-Choirmaster at Calvary, guided the church in their purchase of a new instrument for the nave. A violent storm had torn the roof over the organ chamber and damaged the previous instrument built by the Kimball Organ Company.
