Bristol Cathedral Choir Trip

Bristol Cathedral Choir Trip

July 29 - August 5, 2018

You are invited to travel with the Calvary Choir and Boys and Girls Choir to Bristol, England!

  • Originally founded c.1140 as Augustinian Abbey, Bristol was named a Cathedral in 1542.
  • The construction of the cathedral took place over seven centuries.
  • The east end of the cathedral, one of the examples of a medieval ‘church hall,’ is one of the finest areas of the space, including equally high vaulted ceilings in the choir, nave, and aisles.
  • A choir has sung in the space since its founding as an abbey. When the church formally became Bristol Cathedral in 1542, its statutes required that provision be made for the development and maintenance of the choir, whose role was to sing the praises of God.
  • Visit bristol-cathedral.co.uk to take a visual tour or read more about their music and views on social justice.
